You never know how useful a good knife is until you carry one. You never know when you’ll have to splice wire, screw a tiny screw, open a box, cut a chunk of pepperoni, fashion a marshmallow stick for a kid, carve someone’s initials into your thigh . . .
Behind every Buck Knife is a century of experience and craftsmanship. It all began when a young blacksmith named Hoyt Buck started experimenting with better ways to temper steel so it’d hold an edge for as long as possible. Using worn down file blades as raw material, Buck made his first knife in 1902, then moved to San Diego to set up a knife business with his son, Al. Al turned out to be quite the knife-smith himself, pioneering the foldable, lockable blade knife in 1964. Using industry-leading technology and the best materials, Buck makes a variety of heat tempered knives for every occasion that meet the exacting demands of today’s knife enthusiasts everywhere. They’re in Post Falls, Idaho, today.
