Product Details
Nathaniel Hawthorne once said that the path to adult greatness begins with weird crayons. Actually, he never said that, but if these soywax crayons by Crayon Rocks were around back then, he probably would have. Specially shaped to fit little hands, these crayons will last a preschool classroom all year long. Combine that with the fact that each box comes with 64 crayons in 16 colors and your little ones can start the year out right, and start prepping for their first solo show at the Guggenheim.
Company Info
Barbara Lee, the inventor of Crayon Rocks and a special education teacher, developed her first set to meet the needs of students in her class who had difficultly gripping traditional crayons. She later found that the special shapes of her Crayon Rocks encouraged kids to use a tripod grip, making it easier for them to adapt to holding their first pens and pencils as they learned to write. Begun in a garage in La Crescenta, California, in November 2006, the company now resides on a hilltop in Hestand, Kentucky, where the crayons are made, packed, and shipped all over the world.
