The story of The PK Grill aluminum cooker is one of second chances. In the early 1950’s, Hilton Meigs, known as the “Barbeque King” of Texas, designed and manufactured the first Portable Kitchen® cast aluminum grill. Sales boomed, and soon this small Texas outfit was shipping grills all over the country and to several countries overseas. By the 1980’s, the advent of less expensive stamped metal charcoal grills and trendy gas grills forced Mr. Meigs into retirement. But when Paul and Sarah James stumbled upon a PK Grill at a garage sale, they decided to reintroduce the brand to the market. It’s still the perfect charcoal grill and smoker. And it’s still made in the USA.
